View Results from September 2009 Survey
Location: Route is 18.2 miles long and covers most of Kiawah Island
Participants: Jim Jordan (TOKI), Aaron Given (TOKI), Amy Given
Notes:
A total of 89 deer were seen during this 2 night survey, including 14 bucks, 40 does, 10 fawns, and 25 that were unidentified. The overall density of 52 deer per square mile is almost identifcal to prior year surveys conducted in January.  Densities from 2007-2009 were 51, 41, and 50 deer per square mile respectively.  Other notable sightings included 1 bobcat and several screech owls.  Additional details are provided below.
