Location: Route is 18.2 miles long and covers most of Kiawah Island

Notes:
A total of 178 deer were seen during this 3 night survey, including 46 bucks, 71 does, 24 fawns, and 37 that were unidentified. The overall density of 69 deer per square mile is the highest density recorded on Kiawah in 9 years, but still within management goals.  Other notable sightings included 1 bobcat (wearing a GPS collar) and 6 different collared does from a previous research project.  4 of the 6 collared does were originally captured as adults in 2002, making them at least 10-11 years old.  Additional details are provided below.
